At the end of the Project...
The project has come to an end! Our partners have received our gift pack just in time...
Our collection of clothes was really successful: the Caritas volunteers were really happy about it and asked the students to keep in touch.
We designed a logo for the project using the etwinning logo.
Everyone in the school was really satisfied with the results of our project: students, teachers, and the headmaster, too.
Last weeks: volunteering event
Our pupils are organizing a big volunteering event at our school: a donation of used clothes. The pupil administrators have worked together to create a leaflet where families are invited to take part to the event donating something. They gave it out to everybody in the school.
On Saturday 5th our students are collecting and sorting the clothes for Caritas volunteers, who are coming on Monday 7th to collect everything and talk about their job.
Conference in Turkey
This week, we had a conference in our school. The headmistress of the Fund of Social Assitance and Solidarity in Erdemli came to our school and made a small informing about the instutions and poverty in Erdemli Province. She also distributed booklets to our pupils and expressed how they are dealing with poverty. My pupils were really suprised because they found out that there had been some points they have never heard about the poverty. They actually enjoyed this kind of activity in our project and they have already started the organization of the second one.
Our fourth week
After the wonderful presents we received from our Turkish friends, my pupils were very busy preparing somthing to send to Adife's students. They have also been working on a thanking message, which is almost ready.
This week was very interesting as we took part in the conference with a local social worker. I think my pupils are really focusing on the topic of poverty now. They are actually understanding that this problem is not so far from our everyday life as most of them probably thought at the beginning. Therefore, at the moment they are doing a group activity in order to work out...
Conference in Italy
This week we had a meeting with a local government employee on poverty in Minerbe, our town. She explained how the local government helps the poor. Our students asked questions and took notes. I took pictures of the event. They are writing an interview and they are going to upload it on the Twinspace soon.
At thefourth week of the project, my pupils have continued answering the project activities questions and the headmaster of our school have tried to contact with some authorized people at some local instutions aganist poverty to have a conference at our school. On the other hand my pupils wanted to send some small presents for our partners as a rememberance and they prepared them diligently at whole week and sent them
