A Taste of Maths (ATOM)

The collective task is finished. I know it was a very busy time for all of us and I would like to thank all the teams for taking the time for this and for such a nice work.

It is very nice seeing all the students doing Maths and eating pie in Amsterdam, Avila, Bucharest, ...

We have added a post in the blog with the results of the work A Piece of Pie in.. It's been a long process because we had other assigments to finish but in the end, after all the calculations and research about prices in Ávila, we could create our VUVOX.

The main objective was to compare life ocst in our towns through calculations of basic food items such as flour, butter, apples and town commodities such as water, ...

Our last task is "Maths is around us".
All the teams are invited to join. The challenge consists in finding Maths in everyday life, in Nature, in Art, in our houses and in our towns. Students are invited to observe, take their photos and, at last, show them in slideshows, videos or other formats.
Maths is everywhere, we just need to use our eyes in order to "see" it!

Students worked on quantity expressions. We went to the Friday Flea Market in Ávila to take our own photos.

In addition we compared prices in supermarkets and in the flea market.

They started with VUVOX. They got information about how to upload, add texts, make changes in colours and other features the tool offers. The objective was to practice with a new ICT presentation tool.

At the same time they revised vocabulary, countable and uncountable nouns and quantity expressions.
