pek is thinking' what a wonderful world!'

Posted by: Bruna Giacosa

Hello everybody! My students were really amazed when they saw the book and could read their story in many languages; they amused themself in finding out how an Italian word was translated in a completely unknown language! I don't bet a penny on our pronunciation but we had  great fun.The project was a real adventure also for us because the ones we had joined before were more.. how can I say ....detached, we mainly worked on our own . This one instead was really great because we felt cared about and when we were at a loss we have always received help. At the beginning the class was divided into groups and each had to invent a story for Pek then the best story was chosen and the students were happy to see Pek visiting all the villages of Valbormida where they come from. Then the team was formed and the students outside the team started to look for information about the places where Pek was expected to go and they have learnt something more about Europe and have improved their capability to master English.the sub-groups were requested to prepare a short presentation to show the other students so everybody learned a lot.  Another activity they did was to go round their places and take pictures of interesting or curious sites; then they prepared power point presentations through which they could show their creativity and also use their knowledge of information technologies. At the moment they are learning how to prepare an ipertest using the cartoon they have done on Pek.

Unfortunately we had some troubles with the lab and the Net so sometimes we were late: sorry! Special thanks to Marcos and Maria for their support: Hope to do another project with you and all the other partners.
