TEENS 4 TEENS

The Project will be carried out by the students of the secondary schools (13-14 years old). At the early stage of the project the students will introduce themselves, describe their schools and the place they live. The main subject of the project will be focused on teenage problems and concerns such as: appearance, future career, schoolwork and grades, friends and friendship, money, going out, helping around the house attitude and behaviour. We will also touch the subject of peer pressure and violence at school. The students from the partner schools will be working as the teams representing their countries. Project will involve a lot of communication activities such as wiki, forum and videoconferences to let our students communicate successfully. They will also take photos, prepare Power Point presentations and write articles. The common products will be visible on twinspace, which will be published.

February is over and we ended with the last surveys after a short break due to the open day at our school. (you can also see a presentation about that).

Students get more and more used to the work they should do, the E-Twinning platform is not longer a stranger for them.

Looking forward to doing the next tasks.

The results of the survey "My favourite..." in graphs

All Polish studens are interested in this project, but some of them...a bit more. As a teacher I am very pleased that the project is not limited to the classroom and school but the students want to work at home. Isn't it a good idea to enter TwinSpace instead of playing computer games

This time one of the students prepared the results of the survey  "My favourite..." in graphs. (teachers can also learn form students!!!) All our participants will use the graphs to draw conclusions about their favourite kinds of films and music in the further part of the project.

Thanks Franek...

Google Earth

Both teams added the photos and presentations about the places they live at the beginning of the project, but this time we explored quite new tool for us - Google Earth. The students found Wedemark and Włocławek on the satelite map and ordinary map. Knowing how Google Earth works it was a great fun to look at our places from the sky.

We hope that our students will use this useful tool to learn geography and plan their holiday excursions. Now they know how to use it !

We added the maps of Wedemark and Włocławek to the TwinSpace. You can find them in...

The survey consists of 6 questions. A student must choose o1 of 3 answers: never, rarely or often.

1. How often do you hurt or upset someone in order to go along with the crowd

2. How often do you do something that makes you feel bad about yourself just because other people want you to do it

3. How often do you do something that you know is dangerous just because other people want you to do it

4. How often do you damage other people's property for fun with your friends

5. How often do you lie to your parents because that's what...

We asked our students what is peer pressure according to them and we received they opinions. The participants of the project could express their opinions but what they said is also very valuable for us as the teachers and tutors. Here are a few examples:

German team - our presentations

Posted by: Cornelia Müller
Picture

Today we worked hard on the presentations about ourselves. Sometimes the students haven't been to the other countries and so they don't have an impression about the life of the project partners.

So, we try to give an impression of what is going on in a rural region in Northern Germany and especially at the Realschule Wedemark in the beautiful region of Wedemark.

Enjoy!

Peer pressure

Posted by: Cornelia Müller
Picture

Last week we started working on the - so far - most difficult topic of our project: peer pressure. Students tend to have problems to talk about their experiences and feelings, if they are connected with the feelings of lost and fear.

So, it was not just a challenge concerning the language to talk about this topic, which is strongly connected to highly emotional parts of their lives,  but also concerning their own personal teenage problems.
