Yesterday the Dutch students determined the plantspecies that grow in the water. Not only the kind of species, but also the numbers of the plants can tell something about the degree of contamination of the water. This was the last investigation and now the students will have to draw conclusions and write their reports. |

Today the Dutch students investigated the water of the ditch nearby school by looking for the kind of wateranimals living in it and the numbers of these animals. Some spieces only can live in clean water, whereas others can live in contaminated water too. The students were very suprised to see the small animals that live in the water. |

Microscopic research |

The students in the Netherlands started the investigation of the quality of the ditch by microscopic research of droplets of water from the ditch. Some students found nothing in their water samples, but others saw many organisms. The organisms found can live in clean and moderate contaminated water. |
